The site provides a 3D model of the town and surrounding area to allow visitors to "window-shop" from the comfort of their own home and explore the shops, businesses, restaurants and leisure facilities without having to know the exact name or location.

The site is subscription based for local shops and businesses, but is free for visitors. Browsers can walk the streets of Yeovil, as you can in computer games such as Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto, while also being able to access local information on the businesses featured, including Yeovil College, Goldenstones, Chicago Rock Cafe.

yeoviltown.com provides a focal point for all information regarding the town and provides links to other sites which may have more detailed information on a particular subject. The site can be used by people worldwide to discover Yeovil, or those living away who wish to keep in touch. It is also intended to be a valuable source of current information for local residents.

The Yeovil Directory provides a useful way of visiting local shops and facilities from home to help users prepare for their visit by allowing them to check location, opening times and current offers. It also allows them to contact the business at any time, every day of the year by email.

Yeovil is a vibrant market town with a population of 40,000, situated at the southern boundary of Somerset, 130 miles from London, 40 miles south of Bristol and 30 miles from Taunton.
