The site provides a 3D model of the town and surrounding area to allow visitors to "window-shop" from the comfort of their own home and explore the shops, businesses, restaurants and leisure facilities without having to know the exact name or location.

The site is subscription based for local shops and businesses, but is free for visitors. Browsers can walk the streets of Bridgwater, as you can in computer games such as Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto, while also being able to access local information on the businesses featured. The site covers the town centre and surrounding areas, such as King Square, Fore Street, and Bridgwater Retail Park.

It is also intended to be a valuable source of current information for local residents.

The Bridgwater Town Directory provides a useful way of visiting local shops and facilities from home to help users prepare for their visit by allowing them to check location, opening times and current offers. It also allows them to contact the business at any time, every day of the year by email.

Bridgwater is a busy market town with a population of 33,000, situated at the northern boundary of Somerset, 155 miles from London, 37 miles south of Bristol and 12 miles from Taunton.
