An intranet site developed for the UK government's Disposal Service Agency (DSA) to provide a central hub for business process documents.
The Disposal Services Agency is an executive agency of the Ministry of Defence, with responsibility for disposing of military surplus equipment and stores. The purpose of the site was to provide an area for users to publish and link the process documents required to correctly dispose of warships, but crucially be able to run the site unaided.
The site used hyper-linking throughout to link the Microsoft Visio and Word documents together so that users could easily navigate to a specific flowchart and then read the corresponding text.
The site was designed to be easily updateable using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Visio through a template system. Users were trained to update the content on the site though a bespoke two-day training course.
